Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identifies the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements.
  • Supports complex PCs and LAN/WAN networks throughout the organization. Tests communication lines to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk.
  • Assist with onboarding of new users. Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software.
  • Instructs users in use of equipment, and assists users to identify and solve data communication problems;
  • Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment.
  • Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users’ premises.
  • Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.
  • Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements.
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
  • Stay up to date with regular changes to software/hardware.
  • Perform regular network updates and patches.
  • Provides telephone, in-person and online support to end-users.
  • Coordinates activities with network services and information systems groups.
  • Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications.
  • Administers e-mail and anti-virus systems.
  • Assists in research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience and Qualification:

  • High technical education.
  • 1+ year experience in information technology
  • Working knowledge of PC/LAN application software including word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), E-Mail (MS Outlook) and Internet Browsers (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari).
  • Ability to make contacts and develop effective working relationships within and outside the department, maintaining a high degree of professionalism, requiring tact and judgment to avoid friction; infrequent contact with administrators on matters requiring explanations and discussions; frequent contacts involving the carrying out of projects and schedules;
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple problems simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
