Key Accountabilities:

  • To work with the Development Team to create a detailed work plan which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete the allocated sections of the project.
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the allocated sections of the project.
  • Identify key milestones.
  • Identify the procurement packaging strategy (in conjunction with the Development Director) required to meet the project programme and milestones within his section of the project.
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers to integrate parallel activities in the different areas of the project.
  • Manage relevant contractors and their relevant scopes of work.
  • Coordinate contractors between different areas of the project – this will require coordination with the Project Manager, Projects MEP Manager, and other senior managers as applicable.
  • Expedite the procurement and implementation efforts of relevant contractors and consultants to ensure established milestones are met.
  • Developing accurate project bids with the help of other departments.
  • Oversee the tracking of budgets, commitments and change on project.
  • Liaise with Accounting and Finance for cost control system updates.
  • Monitor and advise Senior Management on the expenditure of project contingencies.
  • Liaise and negotiate with 3rd parties.
  • Provide contractual and commercial support to all aspects of the business.
  • Prepare and review all cost reports before issue to Senior Management and Corporate Office.
  • Ensure that all stakeholders understand and adhere to contractual obligations.
  • Ensure that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to all parties.
  • Ensure that contractual and commercial input is made into Project Business Plans.
  • Ensure that from Contract award the project “budget to build” is established.
  • Ensure that contract documents are properly executed prior to project commencement.
  • Prepare and analyse job cost data for use on future projects.
  • Manage all aspects of Construction Contract Administration.
  • Identifying and communicating development and training needs of staff.
  • Assist with the business planning process.
  • Develop and maintain industry wide relationships.
  • Understand and communicate the Group vision.
  • Undertake ad hoc commercial responsibilities as required and directed by the CEO.

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • A minimum of 7 years of commercial leadership experience in civil engineering and construction-related roles.
  • Strong understanding of the civil engineering and construction industry, including knowledge of market trends and key players
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the company's objectives.
  • RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze market data and make data- driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Azerbaijani and English languages.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
