The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking male or female candidates for the position of:

Data Entry Operator / Biological Reference Sample Collector 

Minimum required knowledge & experience:

• Higher Education, technical college or secondary school level 
• Nursing certificate or equivalent is an asset
• 2 years of work experience in a similar field is desirable
• Fluency in written English and Azerbaijani is required, any other language locally spoken is an asset
• Good computer skills are required (certification or equivalent work experience)

Other Desired  Skills:

• Capacity to adhere to and implement strict procedures
• Ability to learn quickly
• Good listening and communication skills
• Attention to details, rigor, method and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Work under close technical supervision from the team leader
• Actively participate in the Biological Reference Sample Collection Program (collecting buccal samples from the donors, completing relevant documentation, performing quality control, etc.)
• Perform data processing on specific software according to given procedures mainly independently
• Ensure follow-up and updates of specific files / databases
• Translates
• Execute office work (typing of standard documents, filing, photocopying etc.)
• Provide regular oral and written feedback on problems encountered

This is a full-time position based in Baku that requires frequent overnight field trips to the regions. Selected candidates will be hired as soon as possible.
