Key Role:

• Ensuring company's transactions comply with corporate laws and regulations, handling all legal and contractual matters as well as insurance claims from start to finish. 

Interfaces with:

• Customers: Suppliers (including Insurance provider)
• Government bodies: LV Logistics Internal Departments.

Responsibility & Objectives:

• Prepare, manage, negotiate, and review sales and purchase contracts and agreements ensuring company’s interests are protected in line with corporate trading terms and conditions. 
• Stay abreast of legal, regulatory, and institutional requirements as applicable to LV Logistics and deliver general legal counsel as required by the business on legal compliance and transportation law.
• Managing litigation right from issuing/responding to notices to formulating litigation strategies.
• Partner with departments in LV to find commercially viable and legally sound solutions that support LV's strategy and business goals.
• Handle insurance claims from start to finish liaising with all involved parties and ensure legal compliance, adherence to claims processes, and timely payments
• Drive claims toward judicious resolution through effective and timely communication with all relevant parties during a claim’s lifecycle.
• Provide insight on prospective customer contracts to best protect the interest of the Company in respect to claims liability.
• Support leadership by identifying potential problems, working toward solutions, accepting added duties and or responsibilities as needed.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for questions on operations’ best practices, broker and carrier liability, and all overage, shortage, and damage issues.

Qualifications required:

• Education: Bachelor degree in Law
• Experience: At least 2-year experience as commercial lawyer with in-depth knowledge of transport law including international conventions and agreements, experience handling litigation cases, transportation and freight forwarding contracts, as well as handling insurance claims. 
• Languages: English, Azerbaijan is a must, Russian and other languages are desirable.
• Software: MS Office, experience with ERP. 
• Personal: Professional & Positive approach, Communication & Interpersonal skills, Team Player, Problem Solving, Strong organisation abilities, Sense of Discretion, Research skills
