Develop Internal Audit analytics strategy to facilitate highlighting key areas of risk for review as well as continuous monitoring capabilities.
Ensure adherence to planned budgets, timelines, and scope; provide managerial and professional advice to teams on complex audit issues and on the utilization of appropriate techniques and methods to deal with audit issues.
Determine the need for external expertise sourcing. Select, integrate, and manage the expertise in the audit assignment/review.
Conduct follow-up audits to verify the implementation of agreed-upon management actions and provide assurance to the management of the effectiveness of their actions.
Work with the Finance (Risk assessment) team to define the program for risk assessments and scope, define testing strategy and approach, and assess the design and operating effectiveness of key internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure procedures and controls. Identify control weaknesses. Recommend aversion measures and cost savings.
Work in close cooperation with the Company’s external auditors and coordinate activities to complement those of the external auditors and maximize leverage of IA’s work by the external auditors so as to avoid duplication of effort, minimize costs, and prevent undue disruptions to staff.
Continuously monitor, identify and report on fraudulent activity across domestic and international operations and work with management to implement controls to close gaps.
Personally oversee particularly sensitive or contentious audits and investigations of suspected fraud, impropriety, or mismanagement.
Develop and maintain the credibility of the Internal Audit function by complying with professional auditing standards and remaining current with the latest developments and standards for the auditing profession.
Ensure compliance with the company’s Code of Conduct and promotion of ethical practices. Foster integrity in business and support the creation of a positive work climate, enabling the Company to attract, motivate and retain high-potential employees.
