Visions of Azerbaijan Magazine is looking for a full-time Journalist and Editorial Co-ordinator

Published in Baku by The European Azerbaijan Society, Visions magazine provides a high-quality, colourful introduction to Azerbaijan’s history, culture, tourism, international relations and business. It also covers efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

We are seeking a full-time journalist and editorial co-ordinator who will be responsible for researching and writing articles for Visions of Azerbaijan magazine, co-ordinating production and assisting the Editor. The successful candidate will have good writing skills and a proven track record in magazine journalism. Fluency in Azerbaijani and a high standard of English are required. Fluency in Russian would be an advantage.

Key areas of work:

Researching and writing articles for Visions of Azerbaijan magazine
Generating ideas for magazine content
Assisting the Editor to ensure that the magazine appears six times per year
Liaising with the Editor, colleagues, external contributors and the production team
Liaising with subscribers
Updating content on Visions of Azerbaijan’s website, Facebook page and other sites

Experience / skills required:

Excellent writing skills
Native fluency in Azerbaijani
High standard of written and spoken English
Fluency in Russian would be an advantage
Knowledge of Azerbaijan and the region
High attention to detail and ability to work well in a team
University degree in journalism or another humanitarian subject (history, literature, language etc.)
