POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Chief Driver / Logistics Officer
Location: Baku, Azerbaijan
Date Open: August 01, 2014
Close date: August 24, 2014
Purpose of Position:
To supervise and co-ordinate the driving functions of other drivers in order to enhance transport services. To provide a wide range of expedient support services for World Vision Azerbaijan. Ensure that all errands are carried out in a timely manner. Provide services related to logistics as required.
Major Responsibilities:
• Manage the drivers on a day-to-day basis. Ensure safety as a top priority.
• Develop appropriate preventative maintenance schedules for all vehicles and ensure strict adherence to these procedures.
• Maintain service records on all vehicles and driving records on all drivers.
• Ensure that proper vehicle management policies are followed.
• Attend and participate in daily devotional and weekly chapel meetings.
• Provide driving services to all WVAz staff as per daily schedule
• Travel to the regions when required.
• Follow out all WVAz manual, guideline and instructions concerning duties and responsibilities down to the last detail.
Required Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• High school level education or equivalent vocational training
• Current Driver’s License (Category B.C)
• Good knowledge of the territory and road system of the area of work.
• Basic vehicle mechanics skills
• Conversant with the vehicle policy procedures.
• Maintain polite and good communication with colleagues and residents at all time.
• Must be aware and functional in a cross-cultural environment.
Experience:
• Experience in logistics and procurement
• At least five years of driving experience
