Project Name: “Strengthening enabling social and legal environment for protection of people with disabilities (PWD) and children with disabilities (CWD) in Azerbaijan”
Purpose of Project:
The “Strengthening enabling social and legal environment for protection of people with disabilities (PWD) and children with disabilities (CWD) in Azerbaijan” project will contribute to social protection of PWD/CWD in 6 districts through addressing legal and social protection issues at district and national levels and promoting an equitable and inclusive society. It will also contribute to strengthening the role played by civil society in Azerbaijan in promoting and acting as the key stakeholder in addressing disability-related issues at national, regional and local levels. Strengthened civil society organizations will be the core action driver in advocating for disability-related issues.
Major Responsibilities of the Project Manager:
To provide overall management to the project implemented by World Vision International in partnership with local NGO in 6 districts of Baku and Sheki-Zakatala economic region through strategic planning, implementation, management, local capacity building and monitoring of all project activities. To ensure its integration and coordination with other projects in the area, and WV Azerbaijan projects and departments.
Required Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-A advanced university degree in law, social work, education, development or related field is required. The preference will be given to candidates with educational background in law.
-At least 5 years’ experience in child-focused, disability, social development organization
-Experience with local/international NGO on a managerial level.
-Good Knowledge of major donor (EU) guidelines;
-Previous experience of managing EU/EC funded projects;
-Strong organizational skills, good cross-cultural understanding, communication, presentation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills,
-ability to work in and contribute to team building environment,
-ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural context, psychologically stressful environments
-must be able to communicate ideas within and outside of World Vision, with local government authorities, with major donors, other NGOs and UN agencies,
-excellent knowledge of Azeri and English (verbal and written skills)
-willing to travel within Azerbaijan and internationally
Work Environment: Based in Baku, with intensive travel to Sheki-Zakatala economic region.
