Main Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver business results while maintaining high HSE compliance and ethical standards;
• Manage the Technical Department multidisciplinary team;
• Foster and maintain an effective team dynamic;
• Deliver as the technical expert;
• Perform any necessary technical studies and identify key opportunities and risks;
• Develop the annual work plan and budget for the Department, and manage its integration with other departments;
• Make recommendations for short-term, mid-term, and long-term activities to improve well production and asset value;
• Ensure that all recommendations are consistent with appropriate latest standards and objectives;
• Assess and recommend new technologies and innovations as part of work plans;
• Develop technical standards, procedures, and workflows, within the Subsurface team;
• Work effectively and integrate with the Company to ensure good communication and teamwork, particularly with the Operations Department;
• Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, including technical reports and presentations;

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Advanced English (both written and verbal);
• Engineering Degree (preferably Subsurface discipline) from a recognized University;
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
• Solid experience in communicating with Executive teams and FID/investment decision processes;
• Around 15-20 years of broad general expertise in upstream development and operations, of which 5-10 years as Subsurface Manager, gained through diversified global positions with strong preference at both large multinationals and mid-sized independent private O&G companies;
• Strong working knowledge of the Azerbaijan petroleum systems;
• Strong experience in managing mature oil fields under various operational models;
• Understanding of all other relevant technical disciplines;
• Solid experience working in and managing multi-discipline/functional project teams;
• Strong team player. Strong team management skills. Ability to influence others to provide quality inputs to ensure team delivery;
• Able to manage multiple activities and to quickly respond to changing business priorities;
• Positive attitude, high energy level;
