Roles & Responsibilities:

- Ensure of all projects are technically fit for purpose from a pipeline engineering perspective and meet the statutory requirements.
- Provide input to pipeline engineering input to project governance reviews.
- Report on project pipeline engineering technical scope performance against the baseline plan and stated benefits of the project.
- Identify the pipeline engineering deliverables, based on the scope agreed by the Engineering Manager, and use these as a basis to assist in the provision the project estimates and project execution plan which will form part of the EP submission pack.
- Responsible for providing the engineering support for pipeline scope related issues to the Engineering Manager to ensure that the project will deliver the required benefits and is fit for purpose.
- Review and approve 3rd party engineering content related to pipeline scope as required. Responsible for ensuring that all pipeline engineering technical scope change is agreed with the Engineering Manager prior to implementation through the life of the project.
- Work with the project planner to agree pipeline engineering resource requirements and milestones and to monitor progress against them.
- Provide pipeline engineering support to the cost controller to allow the generation of estimates at project commencement and for any potential scope change.
- Facilitate the generation of the pipeline engineering risks and mitigations for project risk register, (including 3rd part risk registers) and their ongoing management.
- Ensure that any 3rd party pipeline engineering contractors adhere to the overall project quality plan provided by the capital projects manager throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work with the project engineering manager to ensure the appropriate contract is in place for any for any 3rd party contractors. This will typically be NEC forms of contract for professional and third part services.
- Ensure that all identified contractors are suitably pre-qualified/ assured for the delivery of the project. Any other duties commensurate with the role.
- Contribute to tender preparation and development of fit-for-purpose competitive proposals.
- Participate in the execution of Contractor design engineering deliverables, typically including screening and comparative analysis of alternative solutions, pipeline engineering activities such as routing and layouts, on-bottom stability, sizing, in-place analyses (on-bottom roughness, free span, in-service buckling, trawl gear interaction, expansion), riser and spool design, MTOs, etc.
- Contribute to know-how development/retention, including development of discipline tools/procedures and transfer of lessons learnt.
- Attend meetings with Contractors (e.g. design reviews, presentation of study results, etc.).
- Technical review and comment design of deliverables of all aspects of Pipelines (i.e. Export Routing , Risers, Crossings, Subsea Cable Routing/Installation, etc.) design and equipment technical and execution definition, selection, and design, including planning for Detailed Design, Procurement, Installation, and Testing / Commissioning.
- Ensure that related technical requirements (e.g. project specifications, data sheets, etc.) developed by Design Contractor fully comply with project requirements.
- Ensure that the Pipelines scope of supply is fully integrated and optimized.
- Optimize design activities for pipeline scope to reduce overall project costs and durations
