Requirement to perform the following:

- Ensure of all projects are technically fit for purpose from a mechanical engineering perspective and meet the statutory requirements.
- Report on project mechanical engineering technical scope performance against the baseline plan and stated benefits of the project.
- Identify the mechanical engineering deliverables, based on the scope agreed by the Engineering Manager, and use these as a basis to assist in the provision the project estimates and project execution plan which will form part of the EP submission pack.
- Ensure consistency of approach to engineering and design, through close liaison with the Engineering Manager and engineering contractor, discipline engineers, specialist engineers, fabricators, and installation contractors.
- Assist in the coordination of all engineering and design activities, in particular, discipline engineering and design, materials management, cost and planning and construction.
- Review progress against schedule regularly with the Engineering Manager and during all phases of the project, to ensure early identification of potential schedule, technology and financial derailers and assist in the development and implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Review all work carried out by engineering contractors and suppliers for compliance with agreed procedures and standards.
- Ensure all Design and Safety reviews are carried out at the right time and actions closed out in a timely fashion to support the project engineering design schedule.
- Initiate and progress necessary action to maintain high standards of engineering, efficiency, planned progress and conformity to contractual and quality requirements.
- Review and comment delivered by Engineering Design Contractore project specifications, drawings, documentation, procurement enquiries, tender documentation and purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain accurate project registers and maintain throughout the project.
- Act as key site coordinator for ensuring timely review/approval of project documentation and drawings by functional engineering representatives and return marked up revisions to the engineering contractor or supplier
- Assist in the development and review of enquiries for major items of equipment and major bulk materials. Assist in the review of technical quotations.
- Act as a key coordinator to assist in ensuring effective communication between the company engineering contractor and/or supplier.
- Advise the Engineering Manager of any potential changes to engineering design or specification which could form the basis of a contract change.
- Assist in leading the review and approvals process for all drawings and specifications prior to release for fabrication or construction.
- Lead assigned project engineering activities at the construction site including the processing of;
- Field Variation Orders, Field Instructions, Technical Engineering Queries'
- Provide technical advice, interpretations, concession requests, field engineering changes, change control system, field requisitions
- Develop and maintain accurate records/registers for; technical engineering queries and resolutions, field project engineering report, field contract changes, project sketches, field drawings, field contract requisitions, field material requisitions
- Ensure that appropriate and timely engineering input is provided to support construction that technical integrity is maintained throughout. This includes the coordination of engineering design information to ensure timely execution of construction packages.
- Coordinate the technical aspects of construction and provide technical advice where requested (either directly, or though others).
- Assist in the identification and reporting to the Engineering Manager, any identified back charges on suppliers.
- Assist in the technical interpretation of pressure testing requirements, for overviewing any analyses of test water and for assisting in the interpretation of results.
- Ensure compliance with the project quality plan and ensure information is correctly captured to enable the provision of as built drawings, documents and project model as appropriate.
- Ensure consistency of documentation used during all phases of the project.
- Assist in the coordination of reporting of construction progress to support the Engineering Manager in delivery of construction progress reports.
- Support the Engineering Manager through the provision of technical advice, coordination of construction services, documentation management (e.g. construction handover packages) etc.
- Participate in key design and safety studies.
- Perform other tasks / duties required by the Engineering Manager
