Procurement and Materials Manager
The main duties and functions
Ensures ALL company commitments are conducted within the company rules & policies.
Ensures ALL material requirements are procured within a timeframe so not to jeopardize company program.
Ensures ALL inter-company departments are kept informed of progress.
Encourages teamwork, by listening, leading and demonstration.
Encourages open communication from top to bottom and within departments and senior management.
Develops a subordinate training and development program.
Ensures ALL materials and equipment is received, stored, controlled and issued within the company rules & policies.
Ensures ALL materials and equipment required by end user is available and ready for use.
Ensures ALL inventory is controlled, and physically monitored by way of audits per month.
Ensures ALL equipment is certified and traceability procedures are in place.
Ensures ALL inventory movements are recorded and Accounts department is kept informed by way of reports – daily.
Ensures ALL materials handling is completed safely by utilizing correct equipment and personnel training.
Encourages teamwork, by leading and demonstrating.
Encourages open communication from top to bottom and within departments.
Ensures ALL materials & equipment is handled by approved freight shipping companies as per company rules & policies.
Ensures ALL materials & equipment is shipped in a cost efficient method by best practice so not to impact the company program.
Ensures ALL customs related requirements are adhered to.
Ensures ALL materials & equipment under a customs bond is monitored and controlled at all times.
Encourages teamwork, by leading and demonstrating.
Ensures ALL materials & equipment required is delivered to end user within an acceptable timeframe.
Ensures supply vessels are available for loading when required.
Ensures cargo readiness is complete prior to load out.
Ensures all local transport is certified and safe to carry company materials & equipment.
Ensures ALL personnel are wearing the correct PPE in their area of work.
Ensures ALL personnel have the correct tools to allow work to commence safely.
Ensures ALL rigging equipment is certified and fit for use.
Ensures ALL personnel are suitably trained in their area of work.
Ensures Chemical products are handled and stored as per the MSDS.
Ensures ALL chemicals are covered by an MSDS.
Ensures ALL Waste products are disposed of in accordance with government regulations and company rules & policies.
Encourages regular emergency drills, toolbox talks and safety awareness to PML staff.

Minimum qualification:
- 10 Years minimum experience within up and downstream operations
- 10 Years minimum in senior supervisory position
- Degree qualified with an engineering or administrative background
- Fully conversant with Procurement and contract terminology
- Fully conversant with Upstream and Downstream materials and equipment
- Dangerous Goods certified advantageous
- Heavy Equipment operation licensed advantageous
- Rigging trained
- First aid trained
- Firefighting trained
- Chemical storage trained
- Excellent ability of spoken and written communicational skills.

- Can generate the department goals and targets to assist the company targets
- Can supervise a department of +/- 150 personnel
