Specific Title: Category Specialist

Reports to: Head of Procurement Department/ Director of the Store

General Summary:

Management of a specific department within the procurement department

1. Organization of uninterrupted process of supply and sale of goods in important categories.
2 . Achievement of targets for sales by accountable categories (turnover, profit).
3 . Generates and approves in conjunction with the Commercial director the assortment in the accountable categories of goods, proposals for changes in the assortment matrix and suggestions on the including and excluding of the goods in/from the accountable categories of goods .
4 . Searches for suppliers of goods in the accountable categories of goods in accordance with the approved requirements to suppliers of the Enterprise, and organizes work with suppliers of the goods within the accountable categories according to the established rules and standards of work with the Enterprise’s suppliers.
5 . Organizes the timely conclusion of contracts with suppliers of the accountable categories of goods and monitors contractual obligations of the suppliers.
6. Generates and approves in conjunction with the Commercial director proposals regarding the change of any supplier and termination of work with the supplier.
7. Generates purchase orders for goods of the accountable categories based on reports on sales.
8. Distributes, places the purchase orders with suppliers and monitors the timely delivery of the ordered goods to the stores.
9. Monitors the availability of the full assortment of the goods of the accountable categories in the sales areas, and determines the minimum and maximum stock in trade by the accountable categories in stores.
10 . Monitors the correct placement of the goods of the accountable categories in the sales points, according to the merchandising standards adopted by the enterprise.
11. Reviews the results of audits conducted on the accountable categories, and participates in the development of measures to eliminate the negative results of the inventory auditing (shortage, surplus of goods, re-grading).
12. If necessary, informs the warehouse workers and expedition about the rules of storage and transportation of goods of the accountable categories.
13. Generates and approves in conjunction with the Commercial director proposals regarding the size of margins on the accountable categories and separate types of goods.
14. Generates and approves in conjunction with the Commercial director proposals regarding the change in retail prices (revaluation) of the goods of the accountable categories.
15. Oversees the execution of functional duties by the commodity category specialist in accordance with the requirements of the job description of the commodity category specialist.
16. Organizes and supervises the current work of the forwarders in accordance with the requirements of the merchandise flow organization and specifics of the current situation in the department and in the stores.
17. Participates together with the Commercial Director in the planning of figures for sales by the accountable categories (turnover and profit).
18. Analyzes the customer demand and the requests of potential and existing buyers in accordance with the methods of analysis adopted by the enterprise.
19. Analyzes the activities of competitors in accordance with the methods of analysis adopted by the enterprise.
20. Analyzes the sales of goods of the accountable categories in accordance with the methods of analysis adopted by the enterprise.
21. Analyzes the work of existing and potential suppliers in accordance with the requirements to suppliers, adopted by the enterprise.
22. Submits the reports on the results of analysis of the accountable categories’ goods sale at the stated time and in the established forms.

Education and Experience Required:

Preferably woman from 30 years (conditionally), higher education, working experience in the procurement of food in grocery stores is required! Ability to find the required product, conduct negotiations, conclude a contract, receive the best commercial terms. Ability to form the assortment matrix, pricing policy, rules of the goods placement,etc.

Personal characteristics:

the desire and ability to learn, to take new information, the ability to people management, ability to teach them and to achieve the set collective goals. In the course of selection, it is important to find someone who will later lead the procurement department (director, the leading category manager , etc.).

Category Specialist will be immediately incorporated into the work, as the process of search of goods, conclusion of contracts, etc. is long and complex.
