The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate, male or female, for the position of:
 
PURCHASER

Duty Station in Baku, Grade 4

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Good knowledge of the market environment
• Negotiates the best value ( quality/price) for ICRC purchases
• Handles current purchases by respecting the given procedures
• Applies to ICRC procurement policies
• Reports to the Logistician on a regular basis
• Prepares selection tables and supporting documents to justify and exhibits transparency in the choice of supplier
• Conducts market survey and analysis for prices and quality benchmarking and submits reports to Logistician
• Ensures that the database is used and filled in correctly. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

• Secondary school level or technical college
• 2 years work experience in a similar field of activity
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Azerbaijani,  Russian is an asset
• Good computer knowledge
• Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
• Capacity to adhere to and to implement procedures
• Good communication skills
• Good Negotiation skills
• Rigor, method and analytical  skills
• Driving license

This is a full-time position, and a selected candidate will start as soon as possible.
