Position: Advocacy Program Assistant

As an international aid organization, World Vision works in nearly 100 countries around the globe, combating the root causes of poverty and responding quickly when disaster strikes.  We partner with communities to find lasting ways of improving the lives of children and their families while providing disaster relief.  In 1994, World Vision began operations in Azerbaijan in response to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict; we provided assistance to refugees, IDPs and other vulnerable peoples in the form of shelter rehabilitation, supplementary food distribution, income generation, water and sanitation and agriculture development.  Since that time, World Vision Azerbaijan has expanded its presence to include development programming and advocacy work related to vulnerable children: children with disabilities and children housed in residential institutions. 

Both in Azerbaijan and across CEE/CIS countries, World Vision is partnering with government to provide solutions to the challenges of child welfare reform.      

The overarching purpose of the Advocacy Program Assistant position is to providing programmatic, administrative and secretarial support to advocacy program personnel, coordinating and organizing assigned activities within the projects, monitoring assigned activities. Ensure integration and coordination with other projects and departments.

Qualified candidates will possess a university degree in the social sciences, education, development or related fiel.

She/He should have at least one year of experience in project administration, preferably in an international NGO context. Previous work in children-related institutions or programs is preferable.

She/He should display excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, excellent knowledge of Azerbaijani and English (verbal and communication skills).
