Key accountabilities:
- The primary responsibilities of the Senior Drilling Engineer are:
- Identify lesson learnt from nearby well, evaluate and carry out studies for drilling campaign.
- Prepare the well design, well planning and drilling program.
- Prepare the technical specifications for drilling equipment and services required for field development in consultation with department concerned.
- Prepare Tender Plan and Invitation of Bid Document, conduct Technical and Techno-Commercial evaluations, and prepare Award Recommendation.
- Verify and inspect the provision of materials and equipment for drilling operation and assure all requirements, special terms and conditions are met.
- Technically support all the managers in related department upon their request in terms of Drilling Engineering and Operations.
- Participated in preparing Work Programs and Budgets for Drilling Section.
- Direct and supervise the on-site work of the drilling contractor and service companies through consultation with Drilling Manager.
- Accountable for live Lessons Learned database and lessons are validated and closed in a timely manner.
- Trains and supports engineers, lessons learned owners with regards to lessons learned
- Ensures drilling performance and NPT trends are analyzed and results are used for performance optimization and reporting purposes.
Essential Education:
- First-degree level in Petroleum engineering discipline. Any Drilling Industry related schools would be an asset.
Essential experience and job requirements:
- Minimum of 15 Oil industry related experience. Minimum of 10 years’ working with/for Major Operator Oil Companies
- Offshore HP/HT drilling experience is Must
- Comfortable working strategically as well as tactically
- Proven project management skills
- Proven commercial awareness
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience in Planning and Project Management
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement
- A self-starter, innovative and able to identify priorities, willing to take up new tasks
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritize work
- Strong networking, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Travel required: Yes - up to 20%. Travel will be required to the field locations offshore, to monitor and participate in drilling operations, performing third party Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
