Senior Cost Control and Planning Engineer

Job description

• Manage and coordinate project cost control and planning activities across assigned projects.
• Prepare and update project budgets, cost forecasts, and resource-loaded schedules.
• Conduct cost analysis, tracking actual expenditures against planned budgets and forecasts.
• Identify and report cost and schedule variances, advising corrective actions to maintain targets.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment between cost, schedule, and scope baselines.
• Review and validate BoQs, material take-offs, and procurement cost comparisons.
• Participate in progress measurement, productivity analysis, and forecasting of completion costs.
• Prepare periodic progress and cost reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for management review.
• Review and evaluate change orders and variation requests for cost and time impact.
• Support preparation of management reports and presentations for senior management.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers in cost and planning tasks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal procedures, templates, and reporting tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.
• 7-8 years of professional experience in cost control and planning within construction projects.
• Cost management, project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and data analysis.
• Leadership skills in cost control and planning.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Team management experience
• Fluent in Azerbaijani and English.
• Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel; knowledge of ERP or cost control software is an advantage.
