The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate, male or female, for the position of:
 
Translator/Interpreter  (Grade 5)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translates, written internal & external documents / publications (official & non) from Russian and Azerbaijani to English and vice versa. Translation requires knowledge of specific vocabulary. 
• Translates spoken communications with internal interlocutors or external interlocutors (general public)
• Drafts and types correspondence in English from and into Russian and Azerbaijani independently

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

• High Education (University or Institute, qualified translator)
• 4 years work experience in a similar field of activity
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written English, Russian and Azerbaijani
• Very good computer literacy
• Good rigor, method and analytical skills
• Capacity to train and to supervise
• Good knowledge of the political, social and cultural  assigned environment

This is a full-time position, and selected candidates will start by October 1, 2012.
