Health Field Officer 2 – Baku

About the Job

The Health Field Officer contributes to implementing, running, and monitoring the health activities, in cooperation with the relevant departments, and according to the objectives set out in the delegation's annual planning, with supervision and coaching from his/her line manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supports the line manager in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of ICRC health activities,
• Contributes to the implementation of First Aid Training,
• Identify, engage and maintain close coordination and collaboration with relevant local stakeholders (e.g. communities, ministries, movement partners) on emergency preparedness & response issues,
• Maintains strong working relationships and communication with the Red Crescent Society,
• Drafts written reports in relation to the health program,
• Participates in working meetings (external / internal),
• Executes administrative and office work related to the health program,
• Develops and maintains contacts with interlocutors, including authorities and operating partners, at various levels.
• Oral interpretation, and translation of documents, from English to Azerbaijani and vice versa.

Desired Profile and Skills:

• University degree in Medicine,
• 3 years’ work experience in a similar field of activity,
• Good knowledge and understanding of public health and local health authorities, services and systems,
• Experience as a First Aid trainer,
• Fluent in written and spoken English, Russian and Azerbaijani,
• Very good computer literacy,
• Experience in Training of Trainers or adult education would be an asset,
• Experience in working with Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, or with NGOs, would be an asset. Experience working in an international environment and/or an international organization is an asset,
• Good rigor, method and analytical skills,
• Cultural awareness and commitment to encourage diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
