Job Title: Maintenance Assistant

Location: Azerbaijan, Onshore

A vacancy has arisen externally for a Maintenance Assistant position as part of the Onshore Business Unit and is available for Azerbaijani citizens only.

The Maintenance Assistant will report to Rig Inventory Engineer/Maintenance Team Leader.

The scope of work is to ensure that all available materials are fit for purpose and are adequately preserved to comply with shelf life and meet with KCA Deutag World Wide Standards.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Manage any repairs that are requested for Company’s coordination from arrival from offshore to Baku base to the supplier and then arrange for them to be shipped back offshore.
• Familiarise self with Company SAP system.
• Ensure all activities are in line with relevant KCAD KOMS procedure.
• Maintain and preserve all equipment stored in the warehouse and surrounding areas, ensuring adequate protection from the elements all times and implementation of preservation program.
• Manage maintenance programme for all machinery operated by Company employees and ensure it is adhered to at all times. Ensure operators of this machinery are fully trained and certified.
• Track shipping schedules and be prepared to deal with change at short notice.
• Manage spreadsheets on all material movements and map storage areas of the equipment/materials for easy and quick access.
• Check and inspect materials on arrival at the warehouse for any damage during transportation and report immediately should any have occurred.
• Liaise regularly with onshore-based materials personnel.
• Complete any other reasonable tasks as delegated by Line Supervisor.
• Supervise and conduct Company weekly safety meetings and share safety information passed on from Management.
• Attend Group base or Client premises, meetings and additional training, as may be required.
• Ensure all material handling is processed in a prompt and efficient manner in order to allow continuity of group management system procedures.
• Take responsibility of Area Ownership of the warehouse and surrounding areas.
• Familiarise self with the Group Safety Policy and to take all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of him/herself and persons likely to be affected by his/her acts or omissions, as required under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
• Ensure that all working places for personnel are always, so far as reasonably practical, safe within the meaning of the above Act.
• Perform COSHH assessments as required and ensure MSDS are readily available on site.
• Bring to the immediate notice of their supervisor actual and potential hazards to safety, health, plant and equipment which come to their attention in the course of their work.
• Ensure that the Group Safety Policy is fully implemented and adhered to by all persons under their authority.
• Ensure that they and the persons under their authority are familiar with and comply with all applicable Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practice issued under the act.
• Be familiar with all changes in regulations and requirements pertaining to the safe operation of electrical equipment in hazardous areas.
• Carry out planned safety inspections as requested in accordance with the Group Safety Policy.
• Ensure that they and the persons under their authority properly use and care for their personal protective equipment and to verify from time to time that all such equipment is in serviceable condition and ensure all PPE requirements are met.
• Ensure they and persons under their authority attend safety meetings, emergency and lifesaving drills in accordance with the Group Safety Policy.
• Ensure that all work is carried out to the requirements of the Permit-to-Work system and in compliance with
Safety Procedures in force, initiates Permits-to-Work as necessary within their discipline and ensures all
safety precautions are carried out.
• Attend all safety critical activities e.g. Pre shift briefs and TBT’s.
• Ensure all Company personnel use TRIC and safety observation cards on a daily basis.

Key Skills/Qualifications:

• Recognised level of education, i.e. Degree or high level of experience.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Good level of verbal and written English language.
• High level of verbal and written Azerbaijani language.
• Ability to supervise people.
• Experience in a similar role of materials storage and preservation.
• SAP/CMMS experience required.
• Microsoft excel experience essential.
• Commitment to safe working practices, policies and legislation.
• Well-developed communication and organisational skills with a structured approach.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• High degree of integrity, ability to work with various OEM equipment systems.
• Accuracy and attention to details.
• Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
