Equipment Rental Services LLC looking for candidates to fill the position of “Service Manager

Service Manager

Job Description & Key Responsibilities:

• Delegate activities to shop foremen and service support employees to ensure service department works in efficient, safe and profitable manner.
• Analyze, review, counsel, and accommodate service employees.
• Manage business requirements of service department.
• Control expenses and enhance income.
• Develop systematic relations between customer base and overall departments.
• Effectively manages team members, including technicians and advisors, to ensure team objectives and sales goals are being carried out
• Provide leadership and direction as required to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction, employee engagement and profitability
• Manage day-to-day activities of Service Department personnel
• Ensure operations conform to industry and company performance metrics and benchmarks
• Occasionally participate in sales calls with Sales Reps.
• Manage new and used equipment inspection, service and preparation for the Sales Department
• Manage the work order process from opening jobs through job invoicing
• Monitors department issues and client complaints to define patterns and work to lessen those recurring issues
• Oversees team members performing inspections, preparing reports, and doing repairs; if necessary, carries out these job duties personally to ensure highest quality of work
• Discuss problems with customers and, if they are unsure of what repair/rework they want or what is needed, order diagnostic testing prior to actual rework or repair
• If it is determined that repair/rework is needed, fill out a work order and cost estimate (including estimated delivery date)
• Order parts and supplies if not in stock
• Oversee and occasionally perform repair (rework)
• Handle customer complaints, questions, and concerns
• Coordinate activities of service personnel conducting research and testing program on automotive equipment considered for acquisition based on such factors as operational performance, costs of operation and maintenance, operational safety, and compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
• Proposes modifications to service processes and/or materials used
• Directs procurement of equipment and materials, supplies, and parts required to maintain repair and storage facilities
• Coordinates repair / rework / maintenance in order to obtain optimum utilization of equipment and personnel and prevent or alleviate operational delays in other departments
• Perform other job-related duties, as needed

QUALIFICATION:

• A high school diploma is required, as is 5+ years of experience as a mechanic, machinist, or technician; must be able to perform essential service duties.
• Must have demonstrated ability to lead a team of 3 or more; shop supervisory experience is preferred. Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels. Strong organizational, managerial, mathematical, and reasoning skills are required.
• Candidate needs to have certification in repairs / maintenance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Management and Vocational training is very beneficial
• 5 or more years of mechanical and supervisory experience within the construction or heavy equipment industry preferred
• Familiarity with scheduling and expediting the turnaround of a rental fleet will be beneficial
• Experience with Grove Cranes, Komatsu earthmoving equipment and Genie, JLG and GEHL brands

Salary will be determined based on interview and experience of the candidate.
