Corrosion Engineer
Job Summary:
Corrosion Engineer plans and performs duties involved with testing, evaluation and installation of cathodic protection systems to inhibit corrosion on various structures.
Job Function:
• Conduct various specific test procedures to gather data for evaluation purposes
• Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data
• Sketch rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other design features on prepared drawings
• Sketch physical features of installation site for subsequent detail
• Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables
• Assemble data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations
• Diagnose and recommend remedies for system difficulties observed during resurvey operations, recommend modifications as needed
• Provide maintenance of field test equipment, ensure good operating condition and render minor repairs
• Review preliminary data, discusse objectives and expectations, and suggest appropriate engineering methods and procedures
• Assist in cost estimation and detailed proposal development
• Plan and schedule activities for efficient utilization of resources
• Coordinate engineering aspects of installation process
• Supervise and/or perform tests required to determine condition of soil, water, underground or submerged structures
• Supervise and participate in post installation survey
• Coordinate interference testing and bonding required with client and affected companies
• Ensure proper application of methods and procedures, modify as appropriate
• Perform economic evaluations of alternative methods of cathodic protection and corrosion control
Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• 5 years cathodic protection system testing and troubleshooting experience required
• Cathodic Protection Certificates are an asset
• Strong team, internal customer service skills and problem solving skills
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Job type: full-time
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30 am – 17:30pm, 5 working days a week.
