Position: IP Backbone Operations Engineer
Main responsibilities
• Responsible for management, configuration, optimization and fault-free operation of the main IP BB Network elements and their subordinates together with associated management systems.
• To integrate products from different vendors, handling of product upgrades, product acceptance testing, onsite services for problem resolution including escalation of problems to various levels;
• To configure, support, install and administrate IP BB network and associated OSS network, applications;
• To prepare the IPBB and OSS internal procedures and documentation and to check and comment vendor specific procedures;
• To analyze requirements document, finding gaps with respect to relevant industry standards, i.e. specifications, design, development and maintenance of software for IP BB network and associated OSS products
• To provide a proper access of the final users to the IP BB Network and associated OSS platform
• To take leading participation in all activities for achieving corporate plans and targets.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this position
Education
• Bachelor or master degree in telecommunications or information technologies
Experience
• At least 3 years of experience in this field
• Switching knowledge – VTP, STP, VLANs.
• Routing knowledge – Static, BGP, OSPF, İSİS, MPLS/VPN, VPLS.
• Traffic engineering and QoS (Quality of Service) knowledge (RSVP, WRED, PQ, CBWFQ/LLD, MQC etc).
• Knowledge and experience in the sphere of transmission and backbone networks (Ethernet, ATM, SONET, DWDM, MPLS).
• Knowledge in hardware and operating systems of industrial solutions – Cisco, Huawei, Juniper.
• Experience with scripting languages (bash, tcsh, perl).
Computer skills
• Excellent knowledge of Unix, MS Office, TCP/IP.
Languages
• Advanced knowledge of Azeri, Russian
• Intermediate knowledge of English language
