Position: OSS System Administrator
Department: Operations, Services & Quality Assurance
Line manager: Head of OSS and Enterprise IT
Grade:
Main responsibilities
1. Ensure the performance and quality of the technical platform, servers etc. Including daily health checks and routine maintenance
2. Control data flow from the network to the Network Management System and plan the corrections and extensions to the Network Management System Platform accordingly
3. Prepare action plans for future software and hardware upgrades in the Network Management System
4. Co-operate with Network Operation Center personnel to assist in system fault resolution
5. Train other personnel in the use of the Network Management System and its features
Secondary responsibilities
1) Support Process Management with OSS process interface know-how
2) Support general OSS improvement lifecycle through feedback from users
Qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this position
Education BSC Electronics, Computer Science or equivalent experience
Experience + 2 years of IT environments
Special professional skills Ability to adapt in a fast paced technological environment
Advantageous Computer skills
1. Server Systems Administration (Linux, Unix, Windows)
2. RDBMS Administration (Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL)
3. Network management and administration (IP, Switches, Routers etc.)
4. Backup Systems and/or Software Management
5. Basic knowledge for scripting in UX systems
6. Excellent knowledge for MS Office
Languages English, with Azeri/Russian an advantage
Personal skills Behavioral Self-starter with strong, proactive personality, and good problem-solving skills
Additional knowledge and skills Knowledge of eTOM and/or ITIL, Understanding of Telecommunications Operations Environments
