Job summary:
Caspian Innovation Center is the central hub for software and platform development across SOCAR and its subsidiaries. We design, build, and manage the technology that powers the entire energy value chain - from upstream exploration and production to downstream energy delivery for millions of customers. Our teams work across infrastructure, backend systems, and customer-facing applications, driving digital innovation at scale.
As an IT Project Manager, you will lead critical technology initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives. You will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating requirements into actionable technical tasks, driving testing and troubleshooting, and ensuring infrastructure and solutions are successfully implemented.
Job responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements into clear technical tasks and deliverables for IT teams
- Coordinate setup of infrastructure, systems, and environments to support project solutions
- Oversee testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution with IT teams to ensure quality delivery
- Ensure smooth integration of new solutions into existing IT landscape and processes
- Support technical teams by clarifying requirements and actively following up on progress
- Manage overall project scope, timelines, budgets, and performance metrics
- Liaise with stakeholders including vendors, project personnel, and end-users to align expectations
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to PMO policies, standards, and best practices
- Monitor progress and expenditures, implementing changes when necessary
- Compile reports and provide clear updates to senior management on status, risks, and results
- Organize and lead project meetings to drive accountability and collaboration
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in IT projects with exposure to infrastructure, applications development, web development, and systems integration
- Strong ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Hands-on experience with IT environments including infrastructure setup, system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with enterprise software platforms (Microsoft, SAP/ERP, ITSM tools, project management tools)
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco or similar are highly valued
- Solid understanding of risk management, change management, and project budgeting processes
- Experience managing contracts, vendors, and procurement within IT projects
- Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate technical solutions and performance metrics
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills to coordinate across technical and business stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Professional level of English and Azerbaijani for effective business communication
