Absheron Early Production Scheme (EPS) is an early development phase to target a first gas production in 2023.

The Full Field Development will be envisaged depending on the results of EPS well ABD001. JOCAP Joint Operating Company of Absheron Petroleum is a new Company created in March 2018, which is the Operator of Absheron from August 2018. Absheron development reference agreements are PSA, JOA and addendums.

EPS Project technical data:

  • 152Mscf/d of gas, 12kbbl/d of condensate; production from 1 subsea well, 34km multiphase flowline, dedicated new platform installed at Oil Rocks field (operated by SOCAR); WHSIP = 555bar, WHFP = 380bar.
  • DRILLEX : 368 M US$ Facilities CAPEX : 741 M US$ Commissioning : 18 M US$ Pre-OPEX : 20 M US$
  • OPEX about 45M$ per year - JOCAP operational team ~ 25 persons (from Project to Operational phase)

Activities 

The job holder is accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behaviour with regard to SSE rules & requirements, with regards to the Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy and for implementing these rules and requirements within his area.

The job holder main responsibilities are to prepare and execute the Commissioning of the EPS facilities for all mechanical items.

During the Start-Up phase, the Commissioning Mechanical engineer will be involved in the Production team to provide support, experience and knowledge, troubleshoot and solve any problems that may arise in order to prevent any delays at Start-Up.

  • Take reasonable care of own Health and Safety and that of Others who may be affected by their acts at work
  • Each employee, at his level of responsibility, must observe all Company Rules, Procedures and instructions in the performance of his own task
  • Exercise such caution as is necessary to avoid danger to persons and installations or to avoid pollution
  • Report any anomaly, abnormal conditions and near miss to supervisor
  • Participate actively in or lead when required HSE meetings, safety talks, tool boxes, training sessions and drills

Authority to suspend activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installation or the environment, and notify forthwith the responsible supervisor

Accountabilities:

Detailed activities:

1. Adopt and demonstrate an exemplary HSE behavior, to implement HSE rules and requirements.  C

2. Prepare all inputs to the ICAPS® commissioning database for mechanical items.  C

3. Prepare the commissioning procedures, in accordance with the OPERCOM® methodology, in its area of responsibility.  C

4. Review and approve the vendors SAT and commissioning procedures for packages and mechanical equipment  C

5. Review the vendors and/or contractors FAT, IFAT and pre-commissioning procedures for packages and mechanical equipment  C

6. Witness the mechanical FAT, IFAT and pre-commissioning execution activities at workshop, at yard and on site  C

7. Follow-up of the pre-commissioning and commissioning punch lists in its area of responsibility.  C

8. Participate in the review of all pre-commissioning dossiers at Ready For Commissioning (RFC) status.  C

9. Execute all commissioning activities in its area of responsibility, at yard and on site, till the Ready for Start- up (RFSU) status is reached.  C

10. Coordinate with vendors the execution of Commissioning activities for packages.  C

11. Reporting of progress and follow-up of Areas of Concern in its area of responsibility.  C

12. Participate in the review of all commissioning dossiers at AOC (RFSU) status  A

13. Support Production Team during Start-up phases  C

14. Transfer knowledge to Production team  C

Required competencies:

  • Level / Diploma: University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Experience : 20 years of experience in Mechanics with more than 10 years in Oil & Gas upstream facilities with relevant experiences in a commissioning role.
  • In-depth knowledge of : Commissioning & Start-up of offshore facilities, maintenance of pumps and compressors, piping,
  • Electrical Safety group 2 certification according to Azerbaijan legislation
  • Other required Competencies: Interface with contractors/subcontractors, leadership.
