Job responsibilities:
- Prepare health and safety strategies and developing internal policy; Implement a site safety program;
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials;
- Investigate incidents to identify causes and to determine how such incidents might be prevented in the future;
- Investigate the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions that could affect employee health, comfort, or performance;
- Implement and maintain hygiene programs such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, and asbestos management plans;
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with QHSE standards and government regulations;
- Conduct QHSE training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment;
- Provide new-employee health and safety orientations, and develop materials for these presentations;
- Undertaking risk assessments and site inspections ensuring that equipment is installed correctly/safely;
- Identifying potential hazards advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases;
- Determining ways of reducing risks;
- Compiling statistics;
- Making presentations to groups of employees/managers;
- Providing health and safety meetings and training courses for employees liaising with relevant authorities;
- Keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation;
Essential Job Requirements and Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in a similar field;
- 5 years of experience in oil and gas industry;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills;
- IOSH Certificate;
- ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007(Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems), NEBOSH International General is an asset.
