Position: Marine Advisor

Work Location: Baku Office

Education: Higher education in - Management of shipping and operations and Transport law

Work experience:

 Minimum 5 years of experience as Port Captain
 Knowledge of Offshore construction

Knowledge of Languages:

English (fluent), Azerbaijani (fluent), Russian (Fluent)

Other Skills/Certificates Required:

• Knowledge of ISM, ISPS;
• Experience in Marine Operations in Port;
• Knowledge of Windows Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint);
• Knowledge of the functional requirements of the safety and security management systems and the best practices of the maritime codes.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out specific Safety/Security shipboard surveys and studies (as needed) To ensure all vessels operate to the SCONA Marine Standards;
• Assist vessel master for vessel departure/arrival.
• Contribute to shipboard Safety Risk Assessment and Management
• To liaise with Vessel Master and DPA to ensure the Company and Client Marine Standards are met and maintained;
• Carry out continual monitoring and assessment of vessel operations and advise improvements to the relevant Vessel Manager;
• Ensure by organising and co-ordinating dedicated audit inspection, that any vessel planned to be utilised on a given project is fit for purpose with respect to marine/offshore operations;
• Assist to carry out the assigned Shipboard Maritime Internal audit activities according to the yearly plan
• Report the Internal Audit results clearly, conclusively and without undue delay by distributing the Internal Audit report to the DPA/CSO and MARF
• Verify the effectiveness of the corrective actions taken on dedicated vessel
• Report to the DPA/CSO any major obstacle encountered in performing the audit activities
• Be familiar with all aspects of the vessel's future likely rolls in light of construction, ROV support, trenching and burial works;
• Follow up the adequacy of the Security and Safety Management Systems implementation and ensure the effective utilization of the related applications
• Fully adhere, at all times and irrespective of the workplace, to Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies, procedures and requirements;
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the line manager.
• Ensure that vessel manning is adequate, and that personnel are suitably qualified and experienced to carry out any intended work scope, and in conjunction with relevant Company department to ensure that crew changing is adequate to the project requirements;
