In March 2015 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and KBR announced an agreement to establish a new engineering and support Services Company in Azerbaijan.  The legal entity name of the new company is SOCAR-KBR LLC and provides design, engineering, technical, procurement, construction supervision and project management services for projects across the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors, in the Azerbaijan – Georgia – Turkey (AGT) region.  The key objective of this strong partnership is to create a world class Azerbaijan-based EPCm services company that will utilize the strength of both organizations and deliver top quality results by utilizing, developing and promoting Azerbaijani national content. The company has a long term commitment from both organisations.

Job Title   : Structural Designer

BRIEF STATEMENT OF DUTIES     

The Role

 Structural Designer working as a part of a project team
 Input into the 3D PDMS multi-discipline model, Structural elements defined by Structural Engineers
 Production of 2D Structural drawings using Draft and AutoCad
 Providing assistance with the preparation of Structural MTOs
 Providing input to Structural procurement packages

Key Aims & Objectives

 To be an integral member of the Structural Group and be involved in the development of SOCAR-KBR procedures
 Input into 3D PDMS model of Structural elements
 Production of 2D Structural drawings
 To assist in providing quantities for the estimate in accordance with estimating group requirements
 To provide inputs to procurement packages
 To ensure that all relevant codes, standards and procedures relating to Structural design are adhered to and that good engineering practice is applied
 To communicate and work effectively with other disciplines/parties, requesting information and providing data on time
 To bring to the attention of the necessary parties, any matters adversely affecting safety, quality, deadlines or costs
 To maintain high quality for all aspects of work and produced documentation

Responsibilities

 To co-ordinate with other members of the team and be a team player
 To liaise with other disciplines
 Ensure correct SOCAR-KBR project specifications and procedures are being complied with
 Ensure that all required provisions are incorporated in the 3D model relevant to the scope of work
 To participate in formal and informal model reviews as required

Required Skills:

 Communications
 Computer Literacy
 Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Structural Designer in the offshore Oil & Gas industry
 Experienced using PDMS 3D and 2D drawing production using Draft and AutoCad
 Degree qualified
 Shall have the right to work in Azerbaijan
