Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed stress analysis of piping systems using industry-standard software and methodologies.
- Review and interpret project specifications, codes, and standards to ensure compliance in piping designs.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate piping systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Develop and review piping material specifications, data sheets, and design documentation.
- Perform pipe support design and ensure proper selection and sizing of supports.
- Conduct thermal and structural analysis of piping systems under various operating conditions.
- Participate in design reviews, hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), and other project-related meetings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to piping stress and support systems.
- Interface with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to address technical queries and provide technical support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Piping Stress Engineer (min 7 yrs.), with a minimum of 2 years in a Senior role .
- Proficient in using industry-standard stress analysis software (e.g., CAESAR II).
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1,ASMEB31.4&31.8, API 610, etc.).
- Strong understanding of piping materials, fabrication, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Chartered or Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
- Familiarity with project management and execution processes.
- Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in brownfield and greenfield settings.
