Job Title – Senior Structural Designer

In March 2015 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and KBR announced an agreement to establish a new engineering and support services company in Azerbaijan.  The legal entity name of the new company is SOCAR-KBR LLC and provides design, engineering, technical, procurement, construction supervision and project management services for projects across the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors, in the Azerbaijan – Georgia – Turkey (AGT) region.  The key objective of this strong partnership is to create a world class Azerbaijan-based EPCm services company that will utilize the strength of both organizations and deliver top quality results by utilizing, developing and promoting Azerbaijani national content. The company has a long term commitment from both organisations.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

• Under broad direction, functions as a technical specialist who makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a far reaching impact on extensive engineering and related activities of the company.
• Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.
• Performs advisory and consulting work for the organization as a recognized authority for broad program areas or in an intensely specialized area.
• Job role contributes directly to value creation.

Qualifications:

• Apprenticeship or BEng Degree in an Engineering related subject
Experience Required:

• 12 plus years of experience as Structural steel designer in Offshore & Onshore facilities in the Oil and Gas processing  & related industries involving all areas from conceptual, front end, through to detail design Engineering.
• Experience in platform topsides Structural steel layout/design and skilled in 3D modelling software (AVEVA E3D)
