Job Title   Structural Engineer

BRIEF STATEMENT OF DUTIES     

Industry experience

Experience in the oil and gas industry is of primary interest, including offshore structural engineering and pipeline engineering, although experience in one or more heavy industry sectors will be considered, including, but not limited to;

• Chemicals
• Power
• Mining
• Metals processing
• Water treatment

Project phase experience

A wide range of experience of project phases from feasibility, conceptual, FEED to EPC is preferred, but not essential, as the majority of work is expected to be executed at EPC phase

Discipline experience

For the majority of positions the basic requirement is for experience in the detailed design of one or more of the following;

• Steel structures – onshore and offshore
o Piperacks
o Equipment structures
o Topsides platforms and supporting jackets
o Connections – bolted and welded
o Stick built and modular systems

Experience in any of the following specialist design areas would be advantageous;

• Building design – in particular plant buildings for administration, control rooms, maintenance, equipment shelters, substations, instrument rooms, etc.
• Site preparation –temporary construction facilities, etc
• Nearshore marine facilities – jetties, materials handling, shore protection, seawater intakes/outfalls, etc
• Blast design
• Dynamic loading design

Required Skills:

 Communications
 Computer Literacy
 Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters level preferable)
 Minimum 4 years post graduate working experience
 Working toward chartered status is also preferable
 Shall have the right to work in Azerbaijan

Additional experience of site/field supervision and technical support is desirable. Knowledge of international design codes and standards would also be viewed favourably.
