Cost Controller

Purpose / Role

Cost Controller is responsible for reviewing cost commitment and expenditure information for all cost elements, for input to the computerized cost control and reporting system on a consistent basis and ensuring that all information received is accurate and correctly input.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Study and understand all relevant project documents relating to cost management.
• Work with all relevant project personnel to ensure that cost control procedures are in place.
• Assisting the project manager in identifying and gaining approval of estimates/change requests.
• Develop and implement proactive solutions and cost-cutting measures 
• Uses financial, budget and accounting expertise to evaluate project costs and ensures that costs remain within budgetary limits.
• Producing regular cost and profit estimate reports and advising management of any forecast cost overruns as soon as possible to allow corrective actions to be taken in a timely manner.
• Monitors and inform top management about financial progress of a project, computes operating fixed and variable costs and compares such costs to budgets.
• Charge of managing purchasing and labor practices in order to keep costs within budget while maintaining the company's production schedule.
• Maintaining comprehensive accessible registers of financial approvals, variations and change orders.
• Liaising with the finance department with regards to establishing monthly evaluation of work done, goods received and services rendered for invoice preparation and verification.
• Reviewing cost related work is in compliance with procurement contract(s).
• Analyze on new vendors and possible cost-cutting partnerships
• Analyze invoices to ensure correct products/services were received at expected cost
• Monitors estimate cost using accounting models to help determine the price of production, the price to consumers and how much money the company can expect to make on any given product or service.

Qualifications:

• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Accounting designation or enrollment in a recognized Accounting Program.
• +5 years of experience in oil and gas industry;
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
• Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as they relate to the position.
• Must be self-motivated and possess a high degree of analytical ability and confidentiality, and work in a safe, prudent and organized matter.

Job type: full-time
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30 am – 17:30pm, 5 working days a week.
