The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate, male or female, for the position of:

Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Field Officer - Psychologist

Minimum required knowledge, experience and core competences:

• High education in Psychology. Clinical psychology (MA) is desirable
• 3-years work experience, ideally in community-based psychosocial activities, training on psychosocial interventions and monitoring
• Knowledge of common mental disorders and psychosocial violence-related problems 
• Experience/knowledge in training process and inter-vision/supervision.
• Outstanding communication skills and proven reporting skills, both in English and Azerbaijani languages; ability to cope with stressful and highly emotional situations
• Communication aptitude, open-mindedness, creativity, pro-activity.
• Mastering of regular office computer packages
• Excellent team-player, self-starter and has the capacity to work towards multiple objectives and priorities
• Solution-oriented commitment
• Good knowledge of the political, social and cultural assigned environment
• Interest in self-development and training on mental health

Standard function description:

• Collect and compile information according to procedures
• Execute field tasks mainly independently and report to superiors
• Act as technical focal point for projects with a psychological/mental health/psychosocial component
• Provide written contributions to delegation and institutional reporting
• Contributes to ensure a transparent management of the financial resources allocated to the project, and makes suggestions for that purpose

Technical Responsibilities:

Mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in frontline communities

• Implement the MHPSS program in selected villages/areas of frontline communities
• Contribute to design (contents and guidelines) and implements trainings on MHPSS accordingly.
• Provide adequate skills/training on MHPSS to community key actors
• Ensure close follow-up on the trained teams and regular field supervisions in order to provide technical guidance and to assure quality of psychosocial support to the communities
• Participate in MHPSS needs assessments
• Monitoring & evaluation: collaborate to design and implement the data collection tools, support the MHPSS DB analysis and writes regular technical reports with the main findings/outputs
• Assess individual severe cases when needed and provide technical referrals accordingly
• Is in charge of contacts with the technical interlocutors (mental health supervisors, psychologists and psychiatrists)
• Prepare MHPSS technical reports.
• Translate institutional and non-institutional documents and interprets while in meetings or field visits.

This is a full-time position based in Barda.
