The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate, male or female, for the position of:
Community Liaison Officer
Minimum required knowledge & experience:
University degree 5 years of work experience in a similar field of activity
Fluent in English and Azerbaijani
Very good communication skills and ability to train
Very good computer literacy
Very good rigor, method and analytical skills
Very good organizational and management skills
Very good writing/reporting skills
Good knowledge of the political, social and cultural assigned environment
Manual transmission driving license with driving experiences mandatory
Standard function description:
Is in charge of implementing activities related to Weapon Contamination Project: organises and monitors the implementation of the related activities according to a given plan
Assist the Head of Sub-delegation in Barda and WeC Regional Advisor in assessing the needs
Communicate and make various presentations/sessions to different target groups, men, women and children including national and local authorities.
Support implementation of Protection, Assistance and Prevention programmes within the Delegation from a WeC perspective
Write internal/external reports
Maintain and develops relations with ICRC’s interlocutors and beneficiaries.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of intervention
Assist in the development and/or introduction of new approaches, methods and practices to achieve desired objectives
Translate institutional documents and interprets for the Regional WeC Adviser
This is a full-time position with a duty station in Barda with trips to other areas of Azerbaijan, including areas along the Line of Contact and the international border with Armenia. The position might be in the future relocated to Baku based on the operational needs.
