The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate, male or female, for the position of:
 
Communication Field Officer (Grade 5)

Minimum required knowledge & experience:

 University degree (communication, Public Relations, journalism, social studies)
 4 years of work experience in a similar field of activity
 Fluent in English and Azerbaijani. Russian is an asset
 Very good writing skills
 Very good computer literacy
 Good rigor, method and analytical skills
 Management skills.
 Good knowledge of the political, social and cultural  assigned environment

Standard function description:

Is in charge of implementing activities related to Communication Projects / target population: organises and monitors the implementation of the related activities according to a given plan

 Assist the program responsible / coordinator in assessing the needs of the specific target population; participates in setting strategies
 Communicates and makes various presentations to different target public (general pop, civil authorities, armed forces, media etc.)
 Writes internal/external reports and press releases
 Contributes to the development and production of dissemination tools.
 Maintains and develops relations with ICRC’s interlocutors and beneficiaries. 
 Follows up the project expenses
 Executes administrative and office work related to the project
 Monitors/ scans media and prepares media reporting

This is a full-time position with a duty station in Baku with trips to Barda and other areas of Azerbaijan, including areas along the Line of Contact and the international border with Armenia.
