HSE Manager
Job description:
- The Development and Maintenance of a Health, Safety and Environmental management system to meet with the requirements of OHSAS 18001 2007 and ISO 14001
- Develop and administer the project HSE plan in alignment with corporate HSE management systems
- Ensures the project’s operations are fully compliant with the HSE legislation of Azerbaijan Republic
- Oversee project safe work permits, hot work permits and lifting plan program
- Regular HSE reporting to Project manager
- Schedule and perform regular inspections and site walk-throughs
- Oversee behavior based observation and conversation program
- Act as a liaison with the on-site construction management team
- Manage project incident management protocol inclusive of root cause analysis and identification of preventative measures/actions
- To hold a regular HSE meetings with workforce and management system review meetings with management team
- Chairing regularly scheduled project HSE meetings
- Overseeing site orientation and on-boarding process for all workers
- Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
- Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture
- Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
- Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
- Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes
- Coordinate employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short and long term strategic safety planning and development
- Order and maintain facility safety inventory including supplies and equipment
- Work schedule: 6 days in week, from 09.00 till 18.00
Requirements:
- Higher education (Technical)
- Minimum 5 years (uninterrupted) experience in international construction projects
- Holder of NEBOSH Certificate
- Master the technical aspects of their sector
- Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA)
- Strategic thinking and leadership skills
- Proficiency in computerized industrial and management tools
- Fluent written and spoken Azerbaijani, English and Russian
- Qualified in implementation of EMS and OHSAS
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Able to provide detailed audit reports, with relevant required preventive and corrective
- Ability to communicate with employees at all levels
- Must be in the age group of 30 – 40 years
