The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate, male or female, for the position of:
Health Field Officer
Minimum required knowledge & experience:
Medical graduate or Public Health graduate
4 years work experience in a similar field of activity
Knowledge about health care system in Azerbaijan (Ministry, Social care, Hospitals etc.)
Experience in first aid is required
Experience in training of trainer or adult education would be an asset
Experience in working with National Societies or NGOs would be an asset
Very good knowledge of spoken and written English, fluency in Azerbaijani
Very good computer literacy
Good rigor, method and analytical skills
Management skills
Responsibilities:
Contributes to the implementation of First Aid Training
Assist the Health delegate to define the orientations of the health program
Identify, engage and maintain close coordination and collaboration with relevant local stakeholders (e.g. communities, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Emergency Situation, Movement partners) on emergency preparedness & response issues.
Maintains strong working relationships and communication with Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society
Drafts written report in relation to the health programs
Participates in working meetings (external / internal)
Executes administrative and office work related to the project
Maintains contact with municipal authorities, and suppliers
Interprets with accuracy in any situation and translates documents from English to Azerbaijani and vice versa
This is a full-time position with a duty station starting in Baku. The position might be in the future relocate in Barda. The selected candidate will be hired as soon as possible.
