The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate, male or female, for the position of:
Logistician (Grade 4)
Minimum required knowledge & experience:
Secondary school level or technical college
2 years work experience in a similar field of activity
Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Azerbaijani
Good computer knowledge
Capacity to adhere to and to implement procedures
Good communication skills
Good negotiation skills
Rigor, method and analytical skills
Responsibilities:
Handles current purchases for ICRC medium/large operation and/or of specific items (requiring technical knowledge) by respecting the given procedures
Compiles the selections table with the information collected and submits to logistics and administration responsible
Executes office work (update of stock tables, filing, typing of standard documents)
Updates the statistical data's for the unit and carry our inventory of existing stocks regularly
Handles current purchases for specific sectors or ICRC small operation mainly independently, or in a medium/large operation under supervision of a senior purchaser
Submits various offers to log or admin department and ensures purchasing follow up
Applies ICRC procurement policies
This is a full-time position with a duty station in Baku, and a selected candidate will be hired as soon as possible.
