Marine Civil Engineer – Georgia Republic
PDL seeks an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join modification and construction of the Marine Terminal as a Civil Engineer. This position will be assigned to our Georgia’s office and be responsible for plans production, project coordination, technical discipline leadership, production staff management and mentoring, Quality Control coordination and support of an assortment of other Port design functions involved in delivering a variety of projects.
Typical duties and responsibilities of this position are:
Perform production associated activities for design projects including port designs, drainage, utilities pavement designs, drawings and specifications through different submittal phases and assist with the resolution of design and construction related problems
Perform conceptual or detailed designs and development of plans and drawings which may include the development of preliminary layout and/or detailed drawings
Prepare designs within CADD and Engineering design software systems and be able to function in 3D design environment
Assist Project Manager(s) with management functions/duties for roadway related activities to assist with successfully delivering projects
Preparation of project schedules
Preparation of staff hour estimates, budgets and estimates
Communication with other disciplines/team members
Provide engineering services during construction activities by reviewing request for information (RFI) and responses, address construction issues and provide input or guidance for resolution of construction problems
Perform field observations where appropriate
Participate in quality control checks and audits, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and/or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others
Coordinate with client, contractors and other agencies, entities and disciplines as required
Prepare meeting records and progress reports
Perform other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum of 5 years experiences with civil engineering design projects (transportation, water, mining, or ports & maritime)
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Ports & Maritime civil engineering experience is preferred
