The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The ICRC Delegation in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate, male or female, for the position of:
Accountant / Premises Responsible (Grade 5)
Minimum required knowledge & experience:
• High Education in Business (University or Institute) or Certificate
• 4 years work experience in a similar field of activity
• Very good knowledge of spoken and written English
• Very good computer literacy
• Good rigor, method and analytical skills
• Management skills
• Capacity to train and to supervise
• Protects organisation’s value by keeping information confidential
• Knowledge of SUN Systems accounting software as an asset
Responsibilities:
• Verifies data's from accounting documents using standard procedures and registers them in the computer
• Reconciles bank accounts and prepares bank transfers
• Executes the monthly closing according to given procedures and under supervision
• Participates in the analyses on cash flow needs
• Ensures respect of financial procedures and guidelines
• Handles bookkeeping
• Establishes standard lists
• Technical support to the budget elaboration and its process
• Technical support to the financial analysis
• Fills in tax and social security reports
• Ensures that premises, equipment and infrastructure, are well maintained according to given procedures
• Establishes and maintains contact with suppliers and other external interlocutors
• Organises bids for specific maintenance projects
• Supervises the staff working in the maintenance of premises (including domestic staff)
• Follows up the expenses related to his service
• Ensures proper storage of material or equipment for the use of the department
• Participates in lease agreement negotiations
• Executes office work such as filing of documents, updating of lists and data for statistics purposes, writing of standard report, drafting standard correspondence
This is a full-time position with a duty station in Baku, and a selected candidate will be hired as soon as possible.
