Responsibilities

Planning, Provisioning of SDH Networks

• Provisioning of the 2Mb Ckts, VC3, STM1, STM4 & STM16 links on SDH Systems Nortel (TN-1C, TN-1X, TN-4XE, TN16XE, DX & HDX), Marconi (OMS-1684,OMS-1664, OMS-1626,OMS 1634), TELLABS FIBCOM for BTS,PRI,POI, DLC, and Lease line Customers
• Playing an important role in taking care of Constraints and Choking (Bottle Neck) in the Transport Network of Reliance which involves Planning and Implementation of strategies to eradicate the Constraints & Choking in the Network.

Network Optimization

• Planned Network Optimization Activities that include:
• Intra-city/Collector STM1/STM4/STM16 Ring Splitting
• VC12/VC4 Repacking/ Regrooming to free up VC4/VC4-4c for specific customer requirements
• Migrating Traffic to Nortel DX Layer to free STM16 Collector Bandwidth
• Rehoming of BTS E1s from Old Switch to New Switch Location
• Migration of circuits to augment capacity of a link viz STM1 to STM4, STM4 to STM16 from Nortel Vendor to Marconi

Equipments

• Diversely Routed Network Critical E1s to overcome failure in case of Multiple Fiber cuts and/or hardware failure to increase Resiliency.

Other

• Troubleshoot SDH circuits ranging from E1 to STM-64 bandwidth.
• To co-ordinate with different groups in the NNOC such as CDMA, Switch, DCN, OSP to minimize service disruption.
• To maintain fault records in OSS.
• Alarm monitoring & troubleshooting faults through NMS.
• Managing the process linked with provisioning, of E1, Loop verification.
• Answerable for Testing of end-to-end transport circuit.
• Interacting with field engineers on solutions to troubleshoot and repair complex circuits, hardware faults and PDH faults.
