Job Title: Training and Competency Advisor
Department: Training & Competency
Reports To: Training and Competency / HR Manager
Purpose of the role:
Continue to build this new department in line with the business needs as the company growth continues. Fully support the training function in ensuring training and competency, consistency and compliance across the assets / regions.
Main Activities (include but are not limited to):
• Lead trainer for the subjects’ area of expertise. SMT programmes
• Responsibility for full TNA for subject area across the assets/regions.
• Understand support or change the procedures to suit the business needs
• Support the TCO’s and coordinators
• Actively support the HR, Operations and HSEQ departments, attending meetings and advising on competence
• Liaise, where necessary, with all relevant external bodies and training department to ensure the programmes are accredited where possible and aligned with industry standards, communication requirements to training and competency team as required.
• Ensure that all tracking and reporting process is adhered to and self audited for compliance.
• Respond to specific training requests in liaison with Training and Competency Management / Coordinators
• Support the induction and recruitment process where required.
• Carry out competency assessments when required
• Carry out training administration duties where required, in addition to observation and assessment of site trainer delivery.
• Develop trade specific materials, assessments and any relevant training documentation.
• Become the focal point for the training department
Specific Tasks (include but are not limited to):
• Carry out assessments (both offshore and onshore) and compliance reviews as directed (training and competency audits).
• Carry out training in mandatory SMT modules and other specialist courses as required.
• Attend relevant meetings (i.e. standardisation meetings, steering group and team meetings).
• Develop training materials, version control, working with coordinators
• Submit timely and accurate information for recording on the central Planner.
• Keep up to date training records, providing information back to coordination team timely.
• Site visits to client base, checking training knowledge implementation.
• Member of the safety audit team
Safety:
• BOSIET, Offshore Medical if required
• Observe and comply with SocarCape Golden rules.
• Active member of the audit team
• Ideally IOSH qualified
• Willingness to study for NEBOSH Certificate qualification
• Internally accredited to deliver all Cape Health and Safety modules and other designated modules.

Training:
• Internationally recognised teaching qualification level 4 award
• Training and knowledge in the scaffolding areas
• Basic IT Skills
• IOSH (or working towards) for delivery of the award
• Accreditation to deliver supervision training as required.
• NEBOSH Certificate (or working towards)
• Knowledge and understanding of performance management
• CMS – Knowledge and understanding of Cape management system.
