Amec Foster Wheeler is a major Engineering and Construction Company involved in Oil and Gas Projects in Azerbaijan is looking for Construction Manager (National)

The successful candidates should have the following capabilities:

• Degree qualified engineer (bachelors or masters).
• Fully developed, professional construction engineer with brownfield on and offshore experience preferably in the oil and gas industry
• Experienced construction manager of multi-discipline projects
• Excellent knowledge of construction codes of practice, standards and statutory documentation, and solid understanding of construction processes and techniques
• Good knowledge of project delivery and needs of the Project Manager and Project Engineers
• Competent in planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, forecasting, reporting of multi-discipline projects, engineering working break down structures
• Experience of Client/Contractor integrated team working, and Client engagement
• Experience of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of multi-discipline projects and engineering activities
• Experience of leadership, control and supervision of a multi-discipline construction teams
• Experience of nationalisation programmes, including coaching and mentoring of subordinate engineers and knowledge sharing
• Able to provide leadership for quality control/safety/environmental strategies and objectives
• Able to formulate long term general objectives and strategies for department and project benefit
• Skilled communicator in both written/spoken medium
• Capable of representing Company internally and externally to senior management level
• Capable of promoting innovation, departmental improvements and team working
• Capable of harnessing the skills of subordinates in problem solving and objective selling in a co-operative team culture.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following activities:

• Safety leadership by personal example including site and offshore visits etc
• Safe performance in all aspects and phases of the project.
• Leadership and organization of the construction team, team development and Nationalisation objectives.
• Liaison/communication with the Delivery Leads
• Effective completion of construction work and deliverables to meet the needs of the projects
• Develop and maintain construction systems and processes.
• Ensure quality of construction work
• Planning support for construction work and input to issue of accurate and timely progress reports
• Management of the construction organization, resource planning and assurance of manpower and personnel requirements to meet the needs of the project.
• Assignment and allocation of construction personnel to specific projects and business streams
• Client interface
• Client Relationship management.
• Resource management and succession plans within the C3 Function
• Point of Contact for Fabrication, on onsite 3rd Party Services contract on behalf of AMEC & BP
• Ensure Health & Safety Responsibilities (ref. SHEQ Responsibilities attached) are adhered to and understood
