Amec Foster Wheeler is a major Engineering and Construction Company involved in Oil and Gas Projects in Azerbaijan is looking for Senior SSHE Advisor (National)

The successful candidates should have the following capabilities:

• NEBOSH Certificate or higher
• Qualified as Internal Auditor
• Trained in Incident Investigation
• Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and its practical application
• Working knowledge of Emergency Response System and its practical application
• Working knowledge of general SSHE Procedures

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following activities:

• Be fully conversant with the Project SSHE Plan. Proactively participate in achieving the highest possible International standard of HSE implementation
• Assist and advise the SSHE Team Lead, Project Management Team and Field Team Leaders in meeting the Companies objectives.
• Ensure that all project personnel are conversant with their obligations relating to SSHE in accordance with both, the SSHE plan and the requirements of the Client
• Be aware of all current relevant SSHE requirements and Azeri occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation and procedures to be operated by Client and all sub-contractors.
• Monitor compliance with the SSHE Plan and Company SSHE procedures and conduct regular SSHE audits and prepare detailed reports of site performance.
• Establish a working relationship with Client SSHE group and enlist their services and facilities when required.
• Establish a working relationship with Heads of Departments and where appropriate consult with them on aspects of SSHE.
• In line with the Project SSHE Plan and Audit Schedule, monitor the SSHE performance of the company during the tenure of the Project.
• Identify, in conjunction with the SSHE Team Lead, Construction Manager and Training Coordinator any necessary SSHE Training
• Assist with the development of a training programme where necessary to meet the requirements of the Project.
• Assist with implementation of SSHE Training Matrix for project
• Establish a working relationship with Field team Leaders and Supervision and where appropriate consult with them on aspects of SSHE.
• Monitor, in line with the SSHE Management System, SSHE Plan, SSHE performance of the Company during the tenure of the project in conjunction with the SSHE Team Lead.
• Attend regular SSHE meetings with other interested parties with respect to safe working by Sub-Contractors engaged on the project.
• Evaluate potential hazards on new types of equipment or processes and assist in the preparation and implementation of new policies and procedures.
• Monitor the performance of contractors and sub-contractors.
• Highlight SSHE issues, make recommendations and/or issue instructions (based on reports, audits and accident analysis), which will be implemented in order that SSHE performance may be enhanced.
• Examine trends and propose actions to prevent recurrence of environmental incidents, accidents & near misses.
• Undertake regular offshore visits to monitor SSHE Performance through inspections, SSHE Audits, SOC’s and BOSS programme and to ensure workforce is kept up to date in relation to SSHE aspects
• Review trending reports on SOC findings, BOSS card submissions and be accountable for the elimination/reduction of identified risks.
