PwC Tax Manager
The Opportunity
PricewaterhouseCoopers Azerbaijan is seeking experienced candidates to join the firm as Tax Manager in the Tax&Legal Services Team.
Main responsibilities
draft and manage drafting by more junior staff regular tax advice to clients and to the authorities on behalf of clients
support clients during tax and state social insurance audits, supervise more junior staff in these projects
work together with the team on and manage tax structuring, planning and other tax consulting projects for clients
ensure timely responses to clients’/Tax authorities’ queries
manage tax due-diligence projects in mergers & acquisitions
manage “health-check” tax review projects to assist clients to be tax compliant
coordinate with other PwC offices on the joint client projects and generate joint proposals
keep abreast of relevant changes in legislation, decrees and practices of tax authorities
manage the tax review of audit files for clients during financial audit projects of audit staff
perform primary management responsibility, including planning, control and coordination of work, directing and development of the client team, establishing client expectations, monitoring client service, controlling billing and net investment, and managing risk
report to Director and Partner and keep them updated on key work matters
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum 3 years of working experience in the fields of finance, accounting, tax compliance and reporting or similar areas;
A good understanding of general accounting principles;
Tax advisory experience on local tax code and PSA is strongly preferable;
Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel);
ACCA/CIMA/CPA professional qualification is an advantage;
Strong research and analytical skills and proactive approach to delivering solutions;
Basic knowledge of legislation and excellent knowledge of tax legislation and excellent understanding of international taxations including Commentary on OECD Model Convention, Transfer Pricing Guidelines;
Coaching consultants and providing timely and appropriate feedback
Report preparation and writing skills;
Fluent in Azerbaijani and English language skills, both verbal and written. Good Russian language knowledge is preferable;
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
Ability to learn and adapt well to new circumstances, information and challenges;
Strong verbal and written communication with colleagues, authorities and clients as well strong presentation and sales skills.
