The Embassy of Malaysia in Baku, Azerbaijan is seeking qualified candidates for the following post:

TRANSLATOR

Among the duties of successful candidate will be:

• To translate and type all reading materials which are of interest to the Embassy particularly on politics, economy and other developments of the Azerbaijan and accredited countries;
• To provide the Ambassador and other Home Based Staff with daily news summaries on political, economy and other developments of Azerbaijan and accredited countries from the daily subscribed newspapers;
• To prepare and type all outgoing letters and Third Person Notes in Azeri or English and translate all incoming letters and notes to English;
• To accompany and act as interpreter of the Ambassador and other Home Based Staff to courtesy calls and meetings, if necessary;
• To do recording and safe keeping of letters and other forms of communications;
• To perform duties of a Social Secretary to the Ambassador by arranging appointments;
• To perform duties as Information officer of the Embassy;
• To assist in contacting ministries, institutions and officials on various matters and fixing appointments when required;
• To assist in trade and information activities;
• To be responsible for distribution of all information materials on Malaysia to various government agencies and institutions, International organisation and Diplomatic missions; and
• Any other duties as directed by the Ambassador and Home Based Staff from time to time.

Candidate, should at minimum, possess the following capabilities:

• Fluent in written and spoken English and Azeri (Russian and Turkish language is an advantage);
• Minimum Bachelor qualifications (having working experience in related field is an advantage);  
• Excellent IT knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and others);
• Is a positive minded, dynamic, punctual and a team player; and
• Have good planning and interpersonal skills.
