EMBASSY OF MALAYSIA IN BAKU,
AZERBAIJAN

The Embassy of Malaysia in Baku, Azerbaijan is seeking qualified candidates for the following post:

DRIVER

Among the duties of the successful candidate will be:

• To drive without influence;
• To adhere to all traffic regulations;
• To open/close the vehicle’s door for passengers;
• To carry packages and luggage;
• To perform errands for the officials and Embassy;
• To ensure ‘car flag‘ is attached to the official car when driving the Ambassador to appointment / function / reception;
• To ensure ‘car flag‘ is detached once Ambassador safely arrived at the Official Residence / Chancery;
• To ensure the cleanliness of the vehicles by washing, waxing and vacuuming the exterior and interior of the vehicles daily.
• To conduct daily inspection of the overall condition of the vehicles by checking tyres and fuel pressure, air-conditioning and sound system, checking conditions of brakes, lights and signal lights and ensuring that fuel  and fluids level are adequate at all times;
• To advice on the overall condition of the vehicle at least once a week and to immediately inform if there is any problem;
• To ensure that scheduled and routine maintenance is performed on time;
• To ensure that the insurance of the vehicles is paid on time;
• To constantly check the Weekly Programme and give appropriate advice of on departure time to be on time for the appointment / function / reception;
• To do ‘recce‘ visit of the venue for appointment / function / reception at least one day before the event
• To drive / escort officials to appointment / function / reception;
• To update vehicle Log Book before the end of work day; and
• Any other duties as directed by the Ambassador and/or Home Based Staff from time to time.

Successful candidates, should at minimum, possess the following capabilities:

• Proficiency in English and Azeri (oral and written);
• Has professional and neat appearance;
• Valid Driving license;
• Minimum one (1) year working experience in the related field
• Positive minded, dynamic, punctual and a team player;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills;
• Polite and reliable;
• Has good knowledge of the local streets and traffic patterns to avoid heavy traffic; and
• Able to work extra hours.

GROSS SALARY: AZN 1,000.00
