Scopus Engineering Ltd are the leading provider of Dimensional Control / Laser Scanning Survey services to the worldwide Oil and Gas industry.

We have offices in Aberdeen, Baku (Azerbaijan), Brunei, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Abu Dhabi.
As part of our restructuring and company growth plans we have an immediate vacancy for a Cost Engineer working out of our Baku Offices.

Location : Baku

Job/Specification:

• Ensuring effective control and reporting of direct costs in accordance with all relevant Scopus Engineering policies and procedures.

Key aims and objectives:

• Ensuring that project cost control and reporting is undertaken in a consistent manner and reported in accordance with Scopus Engineering policies and procedures.
• Working closely with and supporting other members of the finance and planning team.

Prime responsibilities and duties:

• Direct Cost Analysis / Reporting.
• Preparation of Project Cost Target Estimates
• Monitor and report costs against Project Cost Target Estimates (CTE’s).
• Assist in the preparation of project cost reports & Value of Work Done.
• Prepare project cost reconciliations (project escalations, variations etc).
• Manage & Operate Systems.
• Liaise and communicate with clients effectively and build strong working relationships.
• Meetings, Reports & Communication.
• Undertake regular reviews of Direct Cost expenditure against progress and latest estimates by activity, and assessing the impact of cost over/under-runs by preparing trend analyses and options and taking action when required.

Line of Reporting

• Successful candidate will report to the Operations Director and Head Accountants

Experience / Qualifications / Other:

• The candidate must have the ability to produce detailed cost reports that can be substantiated and be able to present them in a professional format to the required level of accuracy.
• Appreciation of the importance of cost data collection and analysis.
• The candidate must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Industry.

Personal qualities, aptitudes and skills:

• Ability to organise and prioritise and effectively balance multiple priorities.
• Accurate and numerate with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills.

Competencies – role specific:

• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• Experience and confidence in the use of typical business software applications.
