Electrical and Instrumentation Designer

Responsibilities:

Meet or exceed the company's safety standards *Comply with all company Procedures, Engineering Practices and other standards
Provide electrical and instrumentation design support to capital and service projects in a fast paced environment *Design of MV and LV electrical systems, including both power, control and instrumentation wiring. Design of power distribution/sub-station
Application of company and industry standards to generate E&I construction packages *Independently develop detailed wiring diagrams., instrument/lighting/grounding plan drawings, electrical schematics, cable tray/conduit sizing, cable selection, PLC panel sizing It is expected from designer to understand wiring principles and to being able to develop wiring drawings without assistance.
Work closely with Electrical Engineers and Control Systems Engineers to achieve project success Field as-built, measurement, and design as project requires
Assist with material take-offs and construction estimating
 
Requirements:

Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Design, or Design Technology or equivalent work experience.
Experience in electrical design including MV/LV schematics, wiring diagrams, plan drawings, conduit and cable tray layouts, etc.
Knowledge or awareness of various industry standards for cable selection/sizing and selection of electrical components in accordance with industry standards. Experience in designing low and medium voltage motor control centre’s for both indoor and outdoor switch racks.
Basic knowledge of AC versus DC systems, wire/cable sizing, and termination.
Experience with I/O detail wiring and termination.
Knowledge of electrical equipment selection in industrial classified areas .Outdoor design experience, able to wear required PPE and drive safely to jobsite for filed measurement/as-built drawings.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Proficiency in Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook and Document Control software packages.
Offshore certificates.
ONC or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject.
